Story No. 1

While working at my computer, for some reason, I ran my hand over my right shoulder and felt a lump.  After seeing four different doctors in two weeks, it was diagnosed as lymphoma.  After two chemos there was no sign of the cancer.  two and a half years later, after helping a neighbor tune a new TV, he described having fat cells removed from around his neck.  I put my hand on my shoulder to say where I found my cancer, darn it, the cancer was back.  If he hadn't mentioned his problem, I would not have found mine back again.  Two chemos later and I pray I get at least another two years of relief.

Story No. 2

God's Humor.....

One day I ventured out to do a few errands and on the way going down Mackinaw. I happened to come behind an elderly woman with a gray bouffant hairdo and glasses that have the side shields (you know what I am talking about) with a vice grip on the steering wheel that would have left her knuckles white.

She could barely see over the steering wheel! Have you got the picture in your mind yet? AND SHE… WAS… GOING… 29.25 MILES PER HOUR… ALL THE WAY TO TITTABAWASSEE RD.

Well, I am a person that must confess to insufficient patience, bordering on road rage. I followed way too close behind her, the leader of a train of cars parading down Mackinaw.

Not being able to stand it any longer, in a huff I turned off at Schust. Turning the corner at 30 miles I went over the white line and got in another persons ‘fright zone.’

Going down the street I had a shameful moment wash over me, and I addressed God on my misbehavior. Well it went like this....God, I am so very sorry for my lack of patience and my disrespect of that elderly woman. Please help me to be more gentle and kinder to drivers. You and I know it is my weakness. I do not know what makes them drive like they do..maybe they have a story, a tragic accident that possibly took the life of a loved one. Lord, change me and make me a better person and I pray I will NOT LET THIS BEHAVIOR HAPPEN AGAIN.....GIVE ME ANOTHER CHANCE!

Well, after running many errands at many different places, I exhaustively headed home.

Guess who was directly in front of me on Mackinaw.... yep, the SAME elderly woman with a gray bouffant hairdo and glasses with the side shields. . . going 29.24 miles per hour.

God and I had a good laugh!
